This project was promoted to encourage young people to settle in the region by supporting youth startups that can coexist with the community, utilizing vacant houses or empty stores in the Chungjang-ro 4·5-ga area. Eight teams signed agreements in June and July.
Among them, five teams completed remodeling of vacant stores and held the first plaque awarding ceremony, while three teams will receive plaques after completing remodeling.
The newly opened youth startups are: ‘Artis,’ operating leather crafts such as keyrings, wallets, and accessories; ‘Moram Platform Co., Ltd.,’ which matches handmade artists with consumers; ‘Siru,’ producing and selling ceramic and candle molds and various modeling figures; flower shop ‘Yangnim Greenhouse’; and event company ‘S Balloon,’ which uses helium balloons.
Dong-gu expects to contribute to creating a youth-friendly startup environment by recruiting two more stores by the end of October, bringing the total to ten startup stores.
Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu said, “I hope that youth startups through matching vacant houses and young people will revitalize the Chungjang-ro 4·5-ga commercial district,” and added, “We will continue to support young people in various ways so that they can freely pursue their dreams in Dong-gu.”
