Prosecutors Seek 5-Year Prison Sentence for Driving Instructor Illegally Filming Female Student's Body
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The prosecution has requested the court to impose a prison sentence on a driving school instructor who was arrested and indicted on charges of illegally filming female students learning to drive.
On the 11th, during the trial of A (33) at the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 26 (Presiding Judge Kim Raeni) on charges including violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (filming and distribution using a camera, etc.), the prosecution stated, "We request a sentence of 5 years imprisonment for the defendant."
A is accused of working as a driving instructor in Seoul and installing a small camera under the driver's seat of a driving practice car to illegally film the bodies of female students and sending the footage to acquaintances.
He is also charged with secretly filming and distributing videos while having sexual relations with women at his home. Investigations revealed that he also filmed the bodies of sleeping victims without their consent.
Additionally, A is accused of receiving money from students and providing unauthorized driving lessons using his own vehicle.
In his final statement, A said, "I think I was out of my mind," and added, "I want to apologize to those I have harmed, and although I hope to reach a smooth settlement, the circumstances are difficult, which is frustrating."
