Gwangju Seo-gu to Fully Operate 'COVID-19 Permanent Screening Clinic' Starting from the 19th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 10th that it will hold a plaque ceremony for the newly constructed permanent screening clinic to effectively respond to COVID-19 on the 18th and will begin full-scale operation the following day.
The temporary tent screening clinic currently operating in Seo-gu is set up in the outdoor plaza on the 2nd floor of the district office, making it very difficult for both medical staff and testees due to direct seasonal and weather impacts during COVID-19 testing.
Seo-gu constructed a permanent screening clinic with a total area of 118.35㎡ on the 1st floor of Seo-gu Health Center, investing a total project cost of 400 million KRW, including 175 million KRW in national subsidies.
The newly built permanent screening clinic is equipped with a positive and negative pressure central control system, automatic ventilation, and heating and cooling systems. Separate spaces such as a reception room, examination room, specimen room, X-ray room, and medical waste room have been prepared, providing an optimal environment for both medical staff and visitors undergoing testing.
Additionally, the previous four-step procedure of ‘waiting → manual questionnaire completion → registration → specimen collection’ has been simplified to three steps of ‘electronic questionnaire completion → registration → specimen collection’ after introducing an electronic questionnaire using QR codes, enabling faster and safer testing.
Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “With the construction of the permanent screening clinic, we can proactively respond not only to COVID-19 but also to various infectious diseases,” and added, “We will do our best to play a leading role in preventing community infections.”
