[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min, a presidential candidate from the People Power Party, unveiled his campaign team on the 9th. Former lawmaker Kim Se-yeon will serve as the chair of the Future Strategy Special Committee, marking a significant consolidation of reformist conservative forces.
On this day, Yoo’s presidential election campaign committee, the ‘Hope Camp,’ introduced its first round of appointments. Yoo’s political partner, lawmaker Yoo Ui-dong, was appointed head of the Vocational Headquarters, and former lawmaker Oh Shin-hwan was named chief of the General Situation Room.
Lawmaker Kim Woong, former lawmaker Min Hyun-joo, and attorney Lee Soo-hee will serve as spokespersons. Additionally, Ryu Hye-ju, a university student who reached the round of 16 in the People Power Party spokesperson debate battle ‘I am Gukdae,’ former Bareunmirae Party spokesperson Kwon Sung-joo, Seongnam city councilor Lee Ki-in, director Lee Hyo-won, and Choi Woong-joo, head of the Local Autonomy Research Institute Sagye, joined the spokesperson team. Former lawmaker Kim Soo-min was appointed head of the Public Relations Headquarters.
Lawmaker Kim Ye-ji will be in charge of disability policy and simultaneously serve as the ‘chief harsh critic.’ A camp official explained, “The chief harsh critic acts as a kind of red team (a team tasked with identifying vulnerabilities within the organization by playing an attacking role).”
Former lawmaker Hong Cheol-ho was appointed special advisor team leader. Former lawmaker Kim Soo-min serves as head of the Public Relations Headquarters, lawmaker Kang Dae-sik as head of the External Cooperation Headquarters, and lawmaker Kim Byung-wook as chief of the Executive Team. Former lawmaker Lee Jong-hoon, lawmaker Yoo Kyung-joon, and lawmaker Shin Won-sik were appointed heads of the Policy Headquarters.
Lawmaker Kim Hee-guk, former lawmaker Koo Sang-chan, and former lawmaker Kim Sung-dong were appointed heads of the Organization Headquarters. Former Minister of Health and Welfare Jin Soo-hee was named senior political advisor, former two-term lawmaker and honorary professor of pediatric cardiology at Seoul Asan Medical Center Park In-sook was appointed senior health and medical advisor, former lawmaker Lee Jung-sun was appointed senior disability policy advisor, special professor Yoo Sung-sik of Suwon University was appointed senior public relations advisor, and former ambassador to Finland Kim Soo-kwon and former head of the Korea Legal Information Service and former Consul General in Chicago Heo Cheol joined as senior foreign affairs advisors.
