[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Persys Mokhoon Foundation announced on the 9th that it has provided 100 million won in special scholarships for COVID-19.
The Persys Mokhoon Foundation allocated additional budget to help students going through difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic focus on their studies, supporting scholarships specifically for tuition purposes rather than general tuition fees. Among students enrolled in regional national and public universities who are temporarily facing difficulties due to COVID-19, 50 students were selected through a separate application and screening process, and each was awarded 2 million won in scholarship funds.
The special scholarship award ceremony, held online, was attended via video conference by Persys Mokhoon Foundation Chairman Son Dong-chang, related officials, and the 50 scholarship recipients.
Chairman Son Dong-chang stated, "Even in the severe situation of COVID-19, seeing students who do not give up their passion and urgency for their studies, we decided to allocate additional budget for the scholarship project and provide scholarships," adding, "We hope this support will give students the strength to overcome the COVID-19 era."
