Korea Startup Promotion Agency and Sejong City Sign MOU to Establish Cooperation System for Promoting Technology Startups
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development signed a business agreement with Sejong Special Self-Governing City on the 6th to join forces in revitalizing technology startups and promoting regional coexistence in Sejong City.
The core of this business agreement includes ▲discovering and supporting excellent (pre-)startup founders in Sejong City through education and commercialization support ▲establishing a mutual cooperation system to revitalize technology startups by utilizing smart infrastructure in Sejong City's Complex Community Center and the 5-1 district.
Both organizations plan to build a close cooperation system to promote step-by-step collaboration for startup revitalization in Sejong City, including ▲dissemination of startup content ▲discovery and nurturing of startup founders ▲attracting investment ▲and fostering startup companies in new industries related to smart cities.
As the first step, the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development will provide content for startup education and founder discovery, such as local creators and makerspaces, while Sejong City will provide infrastructure such as complex community centers. In particular, a talk concert providing a meeting place for young startup founders and senior startup companies is also planned, to be promoted while monitoring the COVID-19 situation.
In the future, they will gradually cooperate in supporting digital startups for fostering startups and venture companies in five new industries including smart cities and future cars, as well as social contribution activities for regional coexistence.
