Lee Jae-myung "Please pay attention to Gyeonggi-do's public delivery app 'Baedal Teukgeup' that helps small business owners"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, has actively promoted the public delivery app 'Baedal Teukgeup' introduced by Gyeonggi Province to prevent excessive commission fees on delivery app usage charged to small business owners and others.
On the 5th, Governor Lee stated on Facebook, "The role of the public is to ensure the market operates fairly," emphasizing, "We must prevent monopolies that disrupt market order through unfair competition or excessive profit-seeking that harms consumers."
He explained the reason for developing the public delivery app, saying, "Last year, a foreign company that accounted for 99% of the delivery app market suddenly raised its commission fees to over 15% of sales, causing a big uproar. In response, Gyeonggi Province started collaborating with the private sector to develop a public delivery app to normalize the delivery app market."
He added, "Payment with Gyeonggi local currency (10% discount) is also available, and there are various events. Although it has only been a short time, the Gyeonggi Province public delivery app 'Baedal Teukgeup' is settling in well. Please use Baedal Teukgeup a lot."
Baedal Teukgeup was promoted under Governor Lee Jae-myung's special directive to guide the domestic private delivery app market, which has effectively formed a monopoly, toward fair competition and to help small business owners struggling with excessive commissions and advertising costs.
