4 Contacts of Confirmed Cases in Gwangju, 1 Contact of Confirmed Case in Seoul
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Five additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the Suncheon area to 520.
Three of the confirmed cases are family members who had a family gathering with a confirmed case residing in Gwangju, and another case is a family member of a Gwangju confirmed case who visited their hometown during vacation.
Another case is an acquaintance of a confirmed case who visited Suncheon from Seoul for vacation and tested positive.
The city plans to expand the scope of epidemiological investigations as much as possible and conduct tests to proactively block the spread of COVID-19, as these confirmed cases were infected through contact with confirmed cases visiting from other regions during the summer vacation season.

A city health center official stated, "Infections are rapidly increasing due to family gatherings during the vacation season or visits from family members from other regions," and added, "We ask that you refrain from visiting other regions as much as possible during this vacation and get tested promptly if any suspicious symptoms appear."
