Kang Hwang-su, Chief of Jeju Police Agency, Visits Iho Tewoo Beach for On-site Inspection
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Kang Hwang-su, Chief of Jeju Police Agency, visited Iho Tewoo Beach at 8 p.m. on the 4th to inspect the COVID-19 quarantine site and encourage the personnel involved.
According to Jeju Police Agency on the 5th, the inspection was conducted with the participation of police leadership including Chief Kang Hwang-su, the Chief of Jeju Western Police Station, as well as the Provincial Government's Marine Industry Division, City Hall's Marine Fisheries Division, and the Iho Residents' Autonomous Committee.
The inspection at Iho Beach COVID-19 quarantine site included encouraging the staff at the comprehensive situation room and patrolling around the beach.
Since 10 p.m. on the 26th of last month, an administrative order prohibiting drinking and eating on the sandy beach during nighttime hours has been in effect at Iho Tewoo Beach, and a joint crackdown team composed of local government, autonomous police unit, and the Iho Residents' Autonomous Committee is operating.
The Crime Prevention Patrol Unit of Jeju Western Police Station is responding to 112 emergency calls while conducting key and intensive patrols around the beach area.
A police official said, "As the spread of COVID-19 in the province has not subsided, we ask beach users to comply with quarantine rules," and added, "Jeju Police will also actively cooperate with local governments to do their best to prevent the spread of COVID-19."
