Shinsegae Department Store Daejeon Branch is 'Art & Science'... Recruiting Members for Cultural Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 5th that it has named its Daejeon branch, opening on the 27th, 'Art & Science' and is recruiting members for its cultural center.
Art & Science will include various facilities such as a department store, hotel, and science center. It will be a landmark in the Daejeon Chungcheong area where visitors can experience scientific content, cultural life, and leisure activities, spanning 5 basement floors and 43 above-ground floors (approximately 280,000㎡).
Shinsegae Academy (Cultural Center) is recruiting new members for the fall semester. Special lectures have been arranged to discuss scientific topics with KAIST faculty members. Professor Gong Kyung-cheol of KAIST's Department of Mechanical Engineering will give a lecture introducing the latest trends in the domestic and international robotics industry.
There will be about 900 courses offered, including history and culture lectures linked with Korea University Korean Studies Institute in Sejong, near Daejeon, poetry creation classes in collaboration with the Daejeon Literature Museum, and pottery classes using an electric wheel. Coach Lee Ji-seon from the Korea Sports Stacking Daejeon Association has prepared a course titled ‘Our Child Gets Smarter with Sports Stacking (Cup Stacking).’

A Shinsegae Department Store official said, "We have organized various courses linked with cultural content from the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions," adding, "We will provide differentiated services through courses tailored to the demands of local students, including expanding educational programs."
