According to the legal community on the 4th, the Supreme Court Special Division 1 (Presiding Justice Kim Seon-su) will conduct the verification hearing for the election invalidation lawsuit filed by former Chairman Yoon against the chairman of the Cheongju Sangdang-gu Election Commission at 10 a.m. on the 10th at the Judicial Research and Training Institute gymnasium.
Former Chairman Yoon ran for the National Assembly in Cheongju Sangdang-gu in the 21st general election. However, he lost to Jeong Jeong-sun of the Democratic Party of Korea. At that time, former Chairman Yoon received 42,682 votes, while Representative Jeong received 45,707 votes. Nevertheless, former Chairman Yoon filed an election invalidation lawsuit against the chairman of the Cheongju Sangdang-gu Election Commission in May last year, claiming a recount was necessary.

Meanwhile, former Chairman Yoon, who previously served as a high-ranking prosecutor, was sentenced to three years in prison and detained in the first trial on charges of bribery related to the Lime Asset Management scandal. Representative Jeong is also on trial for allegedly receiving 20 million won as election funds from an accounting manager ahead of the general election, violating the Public Official Election Act.
