Foreigners and Institutions Both Buy... KOSPI Rises Over 1%
KOSPI Surpasses 3270... KOSDAQ Also Rises About 1%
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The KOSPI rose more than 1% compared to the previous day, supported by simultaneous buying from foreigners and institutions.
As of 1:35 PM on the 4th, the KOSPI recorded 3,275.10, up 1.17% from the previous day. After opening slightly higher at 3,246.65, the index is showing a trend of widening gains.
Foreigners and institutions net purchased 680.2 billion KRW and 483.8 billion KRW respectively. Individuals sold off 1.1617 trillion KRW.
Almost all sectors are on the rise. The largest gains were seen in Transportation & Warehousing (3.63%), Machinery (1.87%), Services (1.57%), and Banking (1.45%). Only Medical Precision fell by 0.40%.
The KOSDAQ also extended its upward trend, recording 1,045.77, up 0.93% from the previous day.
In the KOSDAQ market, foreigners and individuals net purchased 17 billion KRW and 33.6 billion KRW respectively. Institutions net sold 47.2 billion KRW.

Most sectors are rising. The Internet (4.91%) and Entertainment & Culture (4.14%) sectors rose more than 4%. Computer Services (3.68%), Broadcasting Services (3.26%), and Telecommunications & Broadcasting Services (2.74%) also increased.
