CU Launches Unlimited Vegetarian Ready-to-Eat Meal Series
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] CU announced on the 4th that it will launch the ‘Unlimit Vegetarian Ready Meal Series.’ This product was developed in collaboration with Earthin Company, a food tech startup that develops, distributes, and sells plant-based meat, enhancing the taste and quality of alternative meat.
Unlimit is a 100% plant-based alternative meat made primarily from protein extracted from soybeans, with added beet juice, pomegranate, and cocoa powder to create a taste, color, and texture similar to meat. It contains 0% cholesterol and trans fats, while its protein content is about 1.5 times higher than that of beef or chicken breast.
The flagship product, Unlimit Vegetarian One-Meal Lunchbox, consists of black rice and vegetarian spicy stir-fried peppers. The vegetarian spicy stir-fried peppers are made by stir-frying Unlimit and paprika in a sweet and savory soy sauce, replicating the taste and texture of meat stir-fried peppers. It also includes sweet steamed pumpkin and vegetarian dumplings without meat filling.
The Unlimit Vegetarian Triangle Kimbap is generously filled with Unlimit stir-fried in a spicy pork sauce. The pork sauce was specially developed as a vegan sauce using only plant-based ingredients. The Unlimit Vegetarian Yubu Kimbap excludes animal toppings and is richly topped with Unlimit, yubu (fried tofu skin), shredded carrots, and spinach, enhancing its savory taste and texture.
