[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Former President Lee Myung-bak (80), who was hospitalized at an external hospital due to a chronic illness while incarcerated, has completed his treatment and returned to prison.
According to the Ministry of Justice on the 2nd, former President Lee was discharged from Seoul National University Hospital and returned to Anyang Prison based on the medical staff's opinion. It has been six days since his admission on the 27th of last month.
Former President Lee was admitted to Seoul National University Hospital at the end of last year for treatment of underlying conditions while incarcerated at Seoul Eastern Detention Center, and was transferred to Anyang Prison after being discharged in February. He was also hospitalized at Seoul National University Hospital in April due to a chronic illness and was discharged after three days.
