Ssangyong Motor, 8,155 Units Sold in July... 8.9% Increase YoY
The New Rexton Sports & Kan Receives Praise, Maintaining Domestic Sales Around 5,000 Units for Two Consecutive Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] SsangYong Motor announced on the 2nd that it sold a total of 8,155 units in July. This figure represents an 8.9% increase compared to the same month last year.
Domestic sales recorded 5,652 units, maintaining the 5,000-unit level for two consecutive months following June, driven by strong performance of The New Rexton Sports & Khan, which still has around 4,000 units of undelivered inventory.
A SsangYong Motor official stated, "These results are due to the favorable response to the improved product models despite the transition to a single shift production line at the Pyeongtaek plant to implement self-rescue measures," adding, "Despite current constraints in semiconductor and other parts supply, we are focusing all efforts on operating the production line through close cooperation with parts suppliers to resolve the backlog."
