NongHyup Bank Launches 'Cool Roof Campaign' for Heat-Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] NH Nonghyup Bank announced on the 28th that it conducted a Cool Roof campaign to reduce cooling energy and greenhouse gas emissions in collaboration with the Salvation Army at the social welfare facility ‘Eunpyeong-ui Maeul’ located in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.
The Cool Roof campaign involves applying eco-friendly white paint with solar reflection and heat-blocking effects on rooftops to prevent heat accumulation and reduce indoor temperatures by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius.
Starting with Eunpyeong-gu, Nonghyup Bank plans to implement Cool Roof along with rooftop waterproofing work at 22 vulnerable rural facilities nationwide, and deliver 1,000 summer care packages containing samgyetang, summer blankets, masks, and more to heat-vulnerable groups.
