Prosecutors Launch Investigation into Park Moon-duk, HiteJinro Chairman, over 'Family Company Omission'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] On the 27th, it was reported that the prosecution has begun an investigation into Park Mundeok, chairman of HiteJinro, who is suspected of submitting false documents to the Fair Trade Commission.
According to the legal community on the same day, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office assigned the case against Chairman Park to the Fair Trade Investigation Division (Chief Prosecutor Go Jinwon). The investigation team that received the case is known to have started reviewing the records.

Chairman Park is suspected of omitting five companies wholly owned by relatives when submitting HiteJinro Group data to the Fair Trade Commission in 2017 and 2018. Earlier, the Fair Trade Commission filed a complaint with the prosecution last month, stating that "there is a significant or considerable possibility that the false submission of designated documents was intentional, and the seriousness of the act is also high."
