People Power Party "Welcome the Restoration of Inter-Korean Communication Line... Must First Receive Responsible Response for North Korea's Atrocities"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The People Power Party has expressed a welcoming stance on the restoration of the inter-Korean communication liaison line. However, they set the condition that "a responsible response must be received regarding North Korea's atrocities."
Yang Jun-woo, spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in an oral commentary on the 27th, "We welcome the restoration of the inter-Korean communication liaison line. Under any circumstances, behind-the-scenes dialogue must take place."
However, he showed a critical perspective regarding the content. Spokesperson Yang pointed out, "So far, the inter-Korean communication liaison line has been repeatedly unilaterally cut off and resumed according to North Korea's needs. Moreover, this time, beyond a simple disconnection of the liaison line, North Korea unilaterally blew up the inter-Korean liaison office in Kaesong. This crossed the line."
He added, "We call it 'dialogue' when two-way communication based on mutual respect takes place. On the other hand, one-way communication is called 'courtship.' We hope this restoration of communication will be an opportunity for communication, not courtship."

Spokesperson Yang also said, "First, a responsible response must be received regarding North Korea's atrocities, including the shooting of a public official in the Yeonpyeong Island waters after the disconnection of the liaison line, hacking attacks on defense security agencies, and the missile launch in March."
