Former President Lee Myung-bak Hospitalized at Seoul National University Hospital Due to Chronic Illness... "For Treatment of Chronic Condition"
[Asia Economy Reporter Bae Kyunghwan] Former President Lee Myung-bak, who is serving his sentence at Anyang Prison, has been hospitalized for treatment of a chronic illness.
According to the Ministry of Justice on the 27th, the former president was admitted to Seoul National University Hospital on the same day for treatment of his chronic illness.
Former President Lee was sentenced to a heavy prison term by the Supreme Court in October last year and was serving his sentence at Dongbu Detention Center before being transferred to Anyang Prison earlier this year. Previously, due to chronic illnesses such as diabetes and bronchitis, he stayed in the hospital for nearly two months starting December last year. The Ministry of Justice stated that after receiving outpatient treatment including regular check-ups, a decision was made to readmit him for inpatient treatment based on the opinion of his attending physician and others.
