[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Seo Chunsu, the mayor of Hamyang County, urged proactive and preemptive measures in response to the elevation of social distancing to Level 3 to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) within the region during an executive meeting.
On the morning of the 26th, the county held an executive meeting chaired by Mayor Seo, where reports on important pending projects to be promoted by each department were presented, and cooperation among departments for project implementation was secured.
Mayor Seo stated, “Due to the recent spread of COVID-19, it was inevitable to raise the social distancing level to Level 3,” and emphasized, “Please respond proactively and preemptively to prevent further spread within the region and to give hope to the residents who are facing difficulties.”
He continued, “Through thorough epidemiological investigations and subsequent measures, please make a little more effort so that residents can quickly return to their daily lives,” and stressed, “We must strengthen the quarantine system with active participation from residents, including refraining from visiting the metropolitan area or unnecessary outings and using the Safe Call service.”
In addition, Mayor Seo requested strict attention to be paid to urgent tasks such as preventing heat-related illnesses and water accidents during the peak heat, improving integrity, and increasing the population.
