Martial Arts, 'Maritime Logistics Legal Dispute Common Sense Seminar' Held Online
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] The Korea International Trade Association announced on the 23rd that it held an online "Useful Legal Dispute Knowledge for Maritime Logistics (Alssulhaebeop) Seminar" jointly with the Korea Commercial Arbitration Board.
This seminar was organized to introduce actual dispute cases and enhance the legal response capabilities of domestic companies, as logistics disputes are expected to increase due to various ancillary costs such as shortage of shipping space, demurrage and detention fees, and contract cancellations amid the recent surge in maritime freight rates causing a shipping and logistics crisis.
Attorney Moon Gwangmyeong of Seonyul Law Firm stated, "Trade and logistics companies should carefully review transportation conditions, considering quarantine measures and the possibility of disruption or delay in logistics flow due to port congestion, including various costs, time losses, contract cancellations, and the possibility of exemption."
Attorney Lee Cheolwon of Kim & Chang Law Office emphasized, "Understanding litigation and arbitration procedures through actual dispute cases is the first step to acquiring appropriate response capabilities in the logistics field where various disputes occur."
