Korea Federation of SMEs Presents Plaque of Appreciation to Korea Environment Corporation... "Contributing to SME Market Expansion and Win-Win Cooperation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (KSMB) presented a plaque of appreciation to the Korea Environment Corporation on the 21st for its contributions to resolving on-site difficulties faced by small and medium enterprises (SMEs), expanding market opportunities, and promoting win-win cooperation.
The presentation ceremony was attended by Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of KSMB, Jang Jun-young, Chairman of the Korea Environment Corporation, Lee Byung-yong, Chairman of the Korea Soil Remediation Industry Cooperative, and Kim Jang-sung, Chairman of the Incheon Western Environmental Business Cooperative, among others.
Before Chairman Jang took office, the purchase ratio of SME products by the Environment Corporation was only 76.1%, but it expanded to 82.8% last year (a total of 848.9 billion KRW), demonstrating continuous efforts for coexistence with the SME sector. Additionally, the corporation actively reviewed on-site difficulties faced by SMEs and in June revised unreasonable bidding standards to expand SMEs' opportunities to participate in bids.
The SME sector expects that the corporation’s precedent will enable various SMEs to participate in the soil remediation business, which has been concentrated among some large corporations, thereby promoting competition and growing the market.
