[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 21st that it signed the first-ever official sponsorship agreement with the Korea Sports Council at the Korea Sports Council office in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 20th.
The signing ceremony was held with Yoon Ji-hwan, Head of Marketing Division at Lotte Homeshopping, and Jo Yong-man, Secretary General of the Korea Sports Council, in attendance. Through this agreement, Lotte Homeshopping will have the rights as an official sponsor until 2024 to ▲use the Korea Sports Council emblem and official sponsor name ▲develop and sell products related to Team Korea (national representative athletes) ▲utilize intellectual property rights of the Korea Sports Council such as emblems and characters for marketing purposes.
Accordingly, starting with the Summer Olympics opening on the 23rd, various marketing activities related to Team Korea participating in major international competitions such as the Olympics and Asian Games will be carried out until 2024. The plan is to contribute to the revitalization of domestic sports through differentiated marketing by leveraging the company’s capabilities in product and content production and distribution, including goods development and planning of various sports-related media content.
Meanwhile, Lotte Homeshopping will hold the 'Fighting Korea Shopping Festival' from the 22nd, during the 2020 Summer Olympics period, until the 8th of next month to support the success of the national representative athletes. During broadcasts, cheering videos and shopping host comments will encourage interest in the Olympics and support for the national team.
Considering that the age of ordering customers tends to decrease and male customers increase during major sports events, the company will expand its lineup of men's products and also sell convenient meals suitable for late-night snacks. Broadcast scheduling will be flexibly operated according to major game schedules, and a 10% reward point will be given to all customers who purchase TV live broadcast products for three days from the opening day, the 23rd, to the 25th. On the Lotte Homeshopping mobile app, events such as the 'National Team Comment Cheering Event' and daily morning 9 AM 'Fighting Discount Coupons' of 10,000 won (1,000 people), 5,000 won (2,000 people), and 3,000 won (10,000 people) will be offered once a day on a first-come, first-served basis.
