"K-Food Overseas"... KITA-GS Retail Hold Processed Food Virtual Export Consultation Meeting
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] The Korea International Trade Association announced on the 20th that it held the 'GS Retail Joint Processed Food Online Export Consultation' at COEX in Samseong-dong in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
At the event, 12 domestic companies specializing in instant and ready-to-cook foods such as Tteokbokki, Samgyetang, and Nakji-bokkeum, as well as beverages, kimchi, and gochujang, participated along with GS Retail's category merchandisers (MDs) and overseas buyers from Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and other countries to conduct export consultations via video conference.
This consultation was organized to support the overseas expansion of domestic food, beverage, and liquor companies by utilizing convenience stores operated by GS Retail, newly designated as a specialized trading company this year, in Vietnam and its overseas partners in Southeast Asia. Excellent products selected through the consultation will have the opportunity to participate in local promotional events overseas in October to actively develop export channels. The host countries and scale of the promotional events will be finalized based on buyers' feedback.
