[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] The appellate trial verdict hearing for Yoo Jae-su (57), former Deputy Mayor of Busan City for Economic Affairs, who was sentenced to probation in the first trial on bribery charges, has been postponed to September.
According to the legal community on the 19th, the Seoul High Court Criminal Division 1-1 (Presiding Judges Lee Seung-ryeon, Eom Sang-pil, and Shim Dam) accepted the request from former Deputy Mayor Ji Yoo's side and postponed the appellate trial verdict hearing originally scheduled for the 21st to September 15.
It is reported that former Deputy Mayor Yoo, who underwent cancer surgery in June last year and has been in poor health, applied to the court for a change of trial date as the spread of COVID-19 intensified.

Former Deputy Mayor Yoo was indicted on charges of receiving about 40 million won in money and valuables from representatives of credit information and debt collection companies during his tenure at the Financial Services Commission and Busan City from 2010 to 2018, and was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison with 3 years probation, a fine of 90 million won, and a confiscation of about 40 million won.
