Incheon Airport Corporation has set up an exhibition in the duty-free area of Terminal 1, which will run until the end of this year. The exhibition is planned as "Art for Rest," an installation artwork by So Sooyoung, a leading domestic public art artist, supported by the Gyeoksan 1% Sharing Matching Movement and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation's project "Geometric Art Bench."
Artist So mainly creates installation artworks using bright and lively colors that allow viewers to directly feel and experience the pieces. So explained, "I created this special artistic public lounge at Incheon Airport, a place where waiting is familiar, hoping it will be remembered by travelers as a source of new inspiration and joyful energy."
Also on display is "A Place to Rest for a Moment," featuring 20 selected works depicting everyday scenes before COVID-19, purchased through the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation's support project for emerging artists, the "COVID-19 Art Vaccine Project," aimed at overcoming the COVID-19 crisis.
