[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 19th that it is publicly recruiting capable and reputable inaugural executives to lead the Facilities Management Corporation.
Seo-gu recently held the first meeting of the Executive Recommendation Committee to recommend candidates for the chairman and four non-standing directors of the Facilities Management Corporation. The committee finalized the qualifications and evaluation criteria for executive candidates and has started recruiting inaugural executives through the Seo-gu Office website from today.
The Executive Recommendation Committee is an ad hoc committee established to recommend executive candidates for the Facilities Management Corporation. It consists of seven civilian members, including management experts and certified public accountants recommended by the mayor and the district council.
The committee reviews the submitted documents and conducts thorough interviews of applicants, then recommends candidates to the appointing authority, the mayor. The mayor makes the final appointment from among the recommended candidates.
Eligibility for the chairman position includes those with more than three years of experience as an executive at government or local government investment and funded institutions or companies with over 100 employees, or those with experience as a grade 4 or higher general public official. The term of office is three years from the date of appointment and may be renewed annually based on management performance.
Applications are accepted by visit or registered mail until the 4th of next month. Detailed qualification criteria and related documents such as application forms can be found on the Seo-gu Office website.
The Seo-gu Facilities Management Corporation was established to efficiently manage and operate public facilities. After establishing a promotion plan in May last year, conducting a feasibility study by the Local Public Enterprise Evaluation Institute, holding public hearings, and coordinating with the city, the ordinance on the establishment and operation of the Facilities Management Corporation was passed by the district council on the 18th of last month.
Seo-gu plans to complete executive recruitment and registration by September, then prepare all necessary matters such as office setup, staff recruitment, and work transfer, aiming to commence operations in January next year.
