"Maximizing Effectiveness with Neighborhood-Level Ads" SK Broadband Launches 'B tv Uri Dongne Gwanggo'
Targeted Advertising Products for 'Neighborhood Consumers' Supporting Small Business Owners
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SK Broadband announced on the 19th that it has launched ‘B tv Uri Dongnae Gwanggo (B tv Our Neighborhood Advertisement),’ which allows local business owners such as small merchants to promote their stores through TV advertisements.
Unlike existing TV advertisements that target relatively large areas such as cities or districts, ‘B tv Uri Dongnae Gwanggo’ limits the scope to the ‘dong (neighborhood)’ level. By utilizing the set-top box information of B tv subscribers, the advertisement broadcast range is restricted to a specific area to maximize promotional effectiveness. For example, a tteokbokki shop owner in Yangpyeong-dong, Seoul, can broadcast ads only to B tv subscribers in Yangpyeong-dong.
The cost burden has been significantly reduced. Users of ‘B tv Uri Dongnae Gwanggo’ can subscribe to advertising starting from a minimum of 100,000 KRW (excluding VAT). This is cheaper than typical local advertisements, which usually cost several million KRW. The subscribed ads are randomly broadcast during the Q-ton time slots (local advertisement time) of about 80 B tv channels. An SK Broadband official said, “Due to the nature of the advertising market, it is difficult to know the broadcast channels and time slots in advance, but advertisers can check anytime on the website how many times and on which channels their ads aired, and a comprehensive report is provided after the advertisement ends.”
SK Broadband also prepared a solution that allows small business owners, who may have limited production conditions, to create advertisements themselves. Advertisers can easily create ads by selecting one template from over 150 diverse templates that fit their industry and atmosphere, then inserting text and images. Advertising subscription, payment, and production can all be done ‘one-stop’ on the ‘B tv Uri Dongnae Gwanggo’ website.
SK Broadband offers advertising benefits such as blog and store location registration through a partnership with the SK small business online platform ‘Bizit’ to customers who subscribe for more than 300,000 KRW.
