Ministry of National Defense Approves Conditional Artillery Position Relocation Under 'Donation vs. Transfer' Terms
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do is constructing a complex community center in Cheongsan-myeon.
On the 15th, Yeoncheon-gun announced, "We recently discussed the relocation of the artillery base with the 6th Artillery Brigade under the condition of 'donation in exchange for transfer approval.'
Following the Ministry of National Defense's approval for the artillery base relocation, the construction of the complex community center is expected to get on track.
Yeoncheon-gun plans to proceed with administrative procedures such as resuming the management plan service, conducting soil environment assessment services, establishing a plan to acquire shared property for the transfer site purchase, and planning annual budget allocation.
Previously, Yeoncheon-gun secured 6 billion KRW (4.8 billion KRW national funds and 1.2 billion KRW county funds) last year for the special situation area development project.

A Yeoncheon-gun official stated, "We will actively promote the construction of the complex community center after signing the memorandum of understanding and completing various administrative procedures," adding, "We will make every effort to ensure that this long-awaited project proceeds swiftly."
