Residents of Sangbong Village, Bonggang-myeon, Gwangyang City, Make Generous Donation
Delivery of 13,000 Frozen Fish Worth 120 Million Won
[Gwangyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Residents of Sangbong Village, Bonggang-myeon, Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do (Heo Sangryang, 43 years old, Pyo Chiseong, 45 years old) made a generous donation on the 14th to Gwangyang-eup, Bonggang-myeon, and Okryong-myeon.
The donated items included approximately 13,400 frozen fish of six species (Min-eo, Chamdom, Gamseongdom, Byeong-eo, Jogi, Seodae), which were delivered through the Gwangyang Love Sharing Welfare Foundation to all households in Bonggang-myeon, 23 senior centers, as well as senior centers in Gwangyang-eup and Okryong-myeon.
At the donation ceremony, the donors stated, “We decided to donate to provide even a small help to the region struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “We hope the donated fish will provide sufficient nutritional support to the residents and the elderly at the senior centers.”
Heo Jeongryang, head of Bonggang-myeon, expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank Mr. Heo Sangryang and Mr. Pyo Chiseong of Sangbong Village for their generous donation for the elderly in Gwangyang-eup, Bonggang, and Okryong-myeon,” and added, “This warm sharing will be a great strength in overcoming COVID-19.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Heo Sangryang and Mr. Pyo Chiseong of Sangbong Village have been spreading positive influence in the local community through various activities in social organizations of Bonggang-myeon, continuously showing interest and practicing steady sharing for neighbors in need every year.
