GS Retail Opens Exclusive Shopping Channel on Cyworld
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS Retail announced on the 14th that it will enter into a business agreement with Cyworld Z to create synergy between online, offline, and the metaverse.
This business agreement mainly focuses on ▲connecting the metaverse platform with online and offline distribution networks ▲developing and planning collaborative products ▲establishing and executing joint marketing strategies.
GS Retail plans to exclusively open a shopping channel within Cyworld by the end of November. Cyworld users will be able to access the Cyworld shopping channel to quickly purchase desired products through convenience store GS25, supermarket GS The Fresh, and home shopping GS Shop, as well as use quick commerce services. In the future, the shopping category will be expanded to include live commerce, and various metaverse services such as opening a GS Retail-exclusive mini homepage and writing guestbook entries will be introduced.
GS Retail expects to secure a nostalgic metaverse gateway through Cyworld, attracting a young customer base centered on the MZ generation, and anticipates expanding from online boundaries on the Cyworld channel to offline physical shopping.
