Kim Eui-gyeom: "Kim Gun-hee's Doctoral Thesis Copied Company Promotional Materials"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Allegations have been raised that the doctoral dissertation of Kim Gun-hee, wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, plagiarized business promotional materials from a related company.
Kim Eui-gyeom, a member of the Open Democratic Party, announced on the 13th that he "confirmed the fact that Kim's dissertation titled 'A Study on the Development of Fortune-telling Content Using Avatars' directly copied business promotional materials from a company (H Culture Technology) that developed the physiognomy program 'Anita'."
Images related to Anita and key content included in Kim's dissertation were found to be identical. Kim stated, "In particular, about ten images included in 'Chapter 4: Development Plan for the Fortune-telling Content Brand 'Anita'' were directly taken from the promotional materials."
Kim also said, "According to materials submitted by the Content Promotion Agency, H Culture was selected for the 'New Media Pilot Production Support Project' for the development of Anita and received a total of 77 million KRW in support. It was confirmed that Kim Gun-hee received 14 million KRW (3.5 million KRW per month for four months) as labor costs from this project budget. Kim received the highest labor cost among those involved in the project."
He continued, "Kim Gun-hee's doctoral dissertation not only plagiarized the copyright of another person who originally developed and patented the Anita physiognomy program but also unlawfully used the core content of a program developed with government subsidies for personal gain in obtaining her doctoral degree. Such actions are judged to violate the Content Promotion Agency's support project management regulations as well as the Subsidy Management Act."
