Jeongeup City Library Operates 'Various Programs' for Summer
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk (Mayor Yoo Jinseop) announced on the 13th that starting from the 26th, the library will operate various programs that combine fun and education to welcome the summer.
This program provides various experiential opportunities using books to form a habit of reading through positive reading experiences and to promote the regular use of the library.
This year's program is conducted under the theme "Vacation in the Miracle Library" and targets infants, adolescents, and adults.
The program consists of seven themes: ▲ Yahoo! Exciting Fairy Tale Playground ▲ Junior English Activity ▲ Summer Reading Class (Earth Keeper) ▲ Math is Fun! ▲ Science Exploration Life ▲ Useful History Lessons ▲ Meeting with Writers of the Twelve Months.
Looking at the main contents, the summer reading class is for elementary school students in grades 2 to 4 and focuses on environmental topics such as global warming, climate refugees, and plastic waste. It includes related reading and activities like making environmental posters and placards to experience environmental activism.
For adults, the Meeting with Writers of the Twelve Months features author Lee Hyesun, who wrote "Our Child's First English, I Coach," sharing know-how about English education.
Participants have been recruited on a first-come, first-served basis through the Jeongeup City Library website since the 6th, and participation is free of charge.
