Yoon Seok-yeol's Mother-in-Law's Business Partner Requests Emergency Appeal... Prosecution Begins Review
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The prosecution is reviewing an extraordinary appeal petition requested by a businessman who was a business partner of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's mother-in-law.
According to the legal community on the 12th, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office received the extraordinary appeal petition submitted by Jeong Dae-taek (72) from the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
Jeong is known to have filed the extraordinary appeal petition last April in protest after being sentenced to two years in prison for attempted fraud during an investment dispute with former Prosecutor General Yoon's mother-in-law, and one year in prison for falsely accusing Choi. An extraordinary appeal is a relief procedure requested by the Prosecutor General when a legal violation is found after a judgment has been finalized.
