Damyang-gun Holds Resident Briefing on Jungang-ro Underground Power Line Project... Construction Scheduled for August
1.4km Section from Intercity Bus Terminal to Manseonggyo with KEPCO Poles and Communication Poles
[Damyang = Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeonnam Damyang-gun recently held a residents' briefing session on the undergrounding of power lines project in Damyang-eup at the large conference room of Damyang-eup Office, with about 30 residents and related personnel attending, the county announced on the 12th.
The undergrounding project, with a total budget of 5 billion KRW, involves undergrounding KEPCO poles and communication poles along a 1.4 km section from Damyang Intercity Bus Terminal to Manseonggyo by 2022.
The project will proceed in a way that minimizes inconvenience to surrounding merchants and residents, including promotion to merchant associations and individual stores by work section, and the use of water trucks to reduce dust.
Since the undergrounding project was selected as a public contest project last year, agreements have been signed with Korea Electric Power Corporation and Korea Telecom, and the county plans to start construction in August this year and complete it by June 2022.
The county expects this undergrounding project to create synergy with the ongoing Damyang-eup old downtown revitalization project and play a significant role in revitalizing the Damyang-eup urban area.
