[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Kwon Chil-seung, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) and the Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 12th that they are recruiting companies to participate in the integrated online technology exchange consultation meeting for five countries in the second half of 2021.
The second half technology exchange consultation meeting will be held for five days starting from October 18. The target countries are five countries with high demand for domestic SME technology: China, UAE, Mongolia, Indonesia, and Thailand. The consultation will be conducted in a non-face-to-face manner by matching domestic companies with excellent technology and overseas companies seeking technology transfer.
Companies wishing to participate in the consultation meeting can apply on the overseas technology exchange website by the 30th of this month. Up to 15 companies per country will be recruited, and multiple applications are allowed. Participating companies will be selected through technology diagnosis by technology commercialization coordinators and verification of matching success in the respective countries.

The Ministry and SBC have been operating the overseas technology exchange project since 2017. The overseas technology exchange project supports technology export by matching domestic companies with excellent proprietary technology and overseas companies seeking technology transfer. Chairman Kim Hak-do said, "Last year, through a total of 32 consultation meetings, we matched 389 domestic companies with 1,548 overseas companies from 15 countries, achieving 8 technology contracts worth 8.6 billion KRW and 135 MOUs," adding, "SBC plans to support practical outcomes by providing customized support up to 3 million KRW per session twice a year within this year for contract legal review and interpretation services after the consultation meetings."
