Mandatory Preemptive Testing for Academy, Restaurant, Cafe, Karaoke, and PC Room Owners and Workers... Fines up to 2 Million KRW for Violations
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is conducting proactive testing for academy, restaurant, cafe, karaoke, and PC room business owners and workers to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The diagnostic test targets for academies and private institutes include all instructors, staff, and workers such as drivers within the area, who must undergo testing within 45 days from July 8 to August 21. However, those who have completed vaccination or have passed more than two weeks after the first dose are excluded.
Tests can be taken at temporary screening clinics in Gwangjin-gu or near the place of residence.
The diagnostic test targets for karaoke rooms (general and coin-operated) and PC rooms include all persons working at these facilities regardless of employment status, who must be tested within 21 days from July 8 to July 28.
Testing locations include the Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center screening clinic, Junggok and Jayang temporary screening clinics, and mobile screening clinics.
The diagnostic test targets for restaurants and cafes are operators (business owners) and workers (including part-time employees) of establishments registered under Article 37 of the Food Sanitation Act, including general and rest restaurants and bakeries.
The testing period is divided into four stages based on the type of operation, focusing on facilities frequented by people in their 20s and 30s, and will be conducted over 45 days from July 8 to August 21.
Stage 1 targets pubs from July 8 to July 21, and Stage 2 targets cafes and similar establishments from July 15 to July 28.
Stage 3 targets restaurants from July 29 to August 11, and Stage 4 targets other establishments from August 12 to August 21.
Priority testing should be conducted within the designated period for each target group, but all testing must be completed by August 21.
Testing locations include the Gwangjin-gu or nearby public health center screening clinics, temporary screening clinics, and mobile screening clinics. When testing, the name and location of the business must be recorded instead of the place of residence.
Those subject to proactive testing who fail to undergo testing within the designated period will be fined up to 2 million KRW.
