Doosan 2 Players and NC 1 More Confirmed with COVID-19... Baseball Games Canceled One After Another
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Two players in the Doosan Bears professional baseball team tested positive for COVID-19. Additionally, one player from the NC Dinos who underwent retesting was confirmed positive, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to three.
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced on the 10th, "Two COVID-19 cases have been confirmed within the Doosan team, and one player from the NC team who was retested has also tested positive."
On the 10th, the KBO decided to cancel the LG Twins-Doosan game and the Gocheok NC-Kiwoom Heroes game, which were scheduled to be held at Jamsil Stadium.
Furthermore, following quarantine authority guidelines, the entire KIA Tigers team, who played against Doosan or shared the stadium between the 2nd and 5th, must undergo COVID-19 PCR testing. Therefore, the Gwangju KIA-kt wiz game was also canceled.
The three games canceled on this day will be rescheduled later.
According to the integrated COVID-19 response manual, the entire Doosan team will be quarantined until the epidemiological investigation by the quarantine authorities is completed.
The NC team is currently waiting at their Seoul away accommodation, and KIA cannot play until their test results are out. The NC team conducted PCR tests on all players after a COVID-19 case was confirmed at a hotel used as their away accommodation.
On the previous day (the 9th), two players from the NC team tested positive. Among those who were retested, one additional positive case was confirmed.
