Yeongdeungpo-gu, Yeouido Establish On-site Screening Clinic
For the convenience of office workers, it is scheduled to be installed and operated from the 12th at Yeouido Park's Cultural Square... Also operating during lunch hours (12 PM to 1 PM)... Open weekdays from 9 AM to 9 PM, Saturdays and holidays from 9 AM to 6 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) will take proactive measures to completely block the spread of COVID-19 by installing an additional on-site screening clinic in Yeouido Park starting from the 12th.
Recently, COVID-19 cases have surged mainly in the metropolitan area, with 503 new confirmed cases reported in Seoul as of midnight on the 9th. As the spread accelerates, the number of visitors to existing screening clinics continues to increase.
Accordingly, the district decided to install an on-site screening clinic in Yeouido Park to disperse the testing demand from the currently operating Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Health Center and Dorim-dong temporary screening clinic, increasing daily testing capacity to detect hidden infections early.
In particular, the Yeouido on-site screening clinic will adjust its hours to allow workers who find it difficult to visit during business hours to get tested during lunchtime (from 12 PM to 1 PM).
Given Yeouido’s high floating population and concerns about COVID-19 spread, the district urged residents to visit the screening clinics without delay for testing if infection is suspected, regardless of symptoms.
The Yeouido on-site screening clinic will be set up at the Culture Yard in Yeouido Park and will operate from 9 AM to 9 PM on weekdays starting from the 12th (with a pilot operation from 11 AM to 6 PM on the 12th), and from 9 AM to 6 PM on Saturdays and public holidays.
Additionally, the screening clinic operated by the district health center, which previously operated until 6 PM on weekdays to meet increased testing demand, now extends its hours until 9 PM and operates 365 days a year. The Dorim-dong screening clinic, which originally operated until 5 PM on weekdays and 1 PM on Saturdays and public holidays, will expand its hours to 9 PM on weekdays and 6 PM on Saturdays and public holidays. Both Dorim-dong and Yeouido screening clinics will be closed on Sundays.
Furthermore, the district plans to expand the epidemiological investigation team from 30 to 42 members and strengthen its capabilities to minimize further spread by completing same-day epidemiological investigations.
