Lenovo Launches World's First 16:10 Aspect Ratio OLED Laptop
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] Korea Lenovo announced on the 8th that it has launched the world’s first OLED laptop, the ‘Yoga Slim 7 Pro OLED,’ featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio. This laptop is designed for consumers who desire high-performance capabilities, such as content creators.
The Yoga Slim 7 Pro OLED is equipped with a Samsung E4 OLED display with a maximum resolution of 2.8K (2880x1800). The company emphasized that the OLED display offers a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, which is about 1000 times higher than conventional LCDs, allowing clear viewing of objects even in dark scenes. More than 5 million pixels emit light independently without a backlight, and it meets the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) standard color gamut DCI-P3 100%. The refresh rate is 90Hz. It has also received certifications such as VESA True Black Display and Dolby Vision. It is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 9 5000 series H processor, with either NVIDIA GeForce MX450 or AMD Radeon graphics.
Adopting the world’s first 16:10 ratio, the Yoga Slim 7 Pro OLED features bezels only 2.6mm wide, and the active screen-to-body ratio reaches 91% compared to the display boundaries. This allows users to view more content on a single screen during web browsing and document work. Meanwhile, it weighs a minimum of 1.39kg and offers up to 11 hours of battery life, making it highly portable. It is available in two colors: Light Silver and Slate Gray.
Various smart artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are also integrated. Using an IR camera, it supports facial recognition login, and features such as ‘Zero Touch Lock,’ which automatically pauses video and dims the screen when the user moves away from the display, are available. The ‘Flip to Boost’ function automatically boots the system when the laptop lid is opened. AI-based technologies like Mirametrix, which protects on-screen content by recognizing the user’s gaze and detecting when they turn their head, are also applied.
Kim Yun-ho, CEO of Korea Lenovo, stated, “With the recent increase in demand for entertainment content, we upgraded the display with a premium OLED panel to enable a more immersive content experience. Through the premium Yoga brand’s new product, which combines excellent display, powerful performance, and smart AI features, we will provide customers with a more satisfying work environment.”
