Segye Moran Park Revitalized Through Nighttime Landscape Improvement Project
[Gangjin = Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Seung-ok) announced on the 8th that the World Moran Park was selected in the nighttime landscape improvement category of the '2021 Tourist Attractions and Local Commercial District Landscape Vitalization Project Contest' conducted by Jeollanam-do on the 7th, securing a total project budget of 200 million KRW (60 million KRW from the province, 140 million KRW from the county).
This contest project was a nighttime landscape improvement project conducted for 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do, hosted by Jeollanam-do, and after strict evaluations including the first written evaluation and the second on-site evaluation, three cities and counties including Gangjin-gun, Yeosu-si, and Hwasun-gun were finally selected.
With the secured budget, the county plans to install Moran sculptures and lighting, install cutoff street lamps, and create spaces for small-scale seasonal nighttime festivals so that residents and tourists can safely and enjoyably use Moran Park even at night.
Governor Lee Seung-ok said, "With the budget secured through the contest project, we will reorganize Moran Park to improve accessibility, revitalize the surrounding commercial district in connection with Puso and Night Dream, and make Moran Park a park where people want to walk every day, turning it into a new tourist attraction in Gangjin."
