Telecom 3 Companies: "Check QR Entry Registration to Vaccination Information with Pass App"
Collaboration with Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency... 'QR X COOV' QR Access Pass Service on PASS App Opens from the 12th
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The identity verification app ‘PASS’ will soon allow users to check their COVID-19 vaccination information.
SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, the three major mobile carriers, announced on the 8th that starting from the 12th, users will be able to verify electronic vaccination certificates through the PASS app’s QR entry pass service ‘QR X COOV.’
Since last year, the three carriers have been providing a QR code-based electronic entry log service on the PASS app in collaboration with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. Going forward, by linking with the electronic vaccination certificate (COOV app), the PASS app will additionally display users’ COVID-19 vaccination information on the QR entry pass screen.
Therefore, when entering multi-use facilities where vaccination verification is required, users can present the PASS app’s QR entry pass along with the vaccination completion status and vaccination period (e.g., more than two weeks) displayed at the bottom of the screen.
The PASS app’s QR entry pass service requires only a one-time initial authentication and can be used thereafter without additional re-authentication. Each time a QR code is generated, the app verifies whether the device is registered under the user’s name, ensuring accurate and secure use. Vaccination information is stored in the phone’s secure area, providing excellent security.

The three carriers will continue to enhance COVID-19 prevention-related services such as the QR entry pass through the PASS app, which combines convenience and security, taking the lead in protecting the health and safety of the public. They also plan to continuously cooperate to expand innovative customer experiences in identity verification services through various ICT infrastructures based on 5G and artificial intelligence (AI).
