'Socar' Surpasses 7 Million Members After 10 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Socar, celebrating its 10th anniversary, announced on the 8th that it has surpassed 7 million members.
This comes one year after surpassing 6 million members in June last year.
The cumulative distance traveled by 7 million members using Socar is 1.6 billion km, which is equivalent to approximately 38,000 laps around the Earth. Over the past 10 years, members have rented Socar vehicles for a total of 160 million hours.
The age range of Socar members has also diversified. While usage was concentrated among those in their 20s, it has expanded to those in their 30s and beyond, with the average member age increasing from 29.6 years in 2016 to 34.6 years.
The proportion of users in their 30s, which was 25.7% in the same year, rose to 34.5% as of June this year, and those in their 40s increased from 9.7% to 17.5%, with the 30s and 40s age groups accounting for half of Socar users. Users aged 50 and above also increased from 3.5% to 9.6%, pushing the proportion of members aged 30 and above from under 40% to over 60% in five years.
The average usage time and driving distance per Socar user have also significantly increased. In 2016, users traveled an average of 59 km over 5 hours and 10 minutes per rental, but this year, usage nearly doubled to 12 hours and 105 km per rental.
The member who used Socar the most has rented a total of about 1,300 times since 2015, and the member with the longest cumulative rental time has used it for a total of 17,000 hours since 2018; both users subscribed to the Socar Pass subscription service.
Socar's fleet size, which was 100 vehicles in 2011, exceeded 16,000 vehicles as of July this year. As the customer base and mobility demand diversified, the number of vehicle models operated increased to 56. Socar plans to expand its fleet to 18,000 vehicles within the third quarter of this year.
