Issuance of Electronic Certificates Including Family Relation Certificate Starts Today on SKT Initial App
[Asia Economy Reporter Seolgina Jo] SK Telecom announced that starting from the 8th, 42 major electronic certificates, including resident registration certificates, business registration certificates, and income amount certificates, can be issued through the electronic document wallet service of its 'Initial' application.
Initial is a service based on blockchain and DID (Decentralized Identifier) that allows users to issue, store, and submit various certificates on their own devices. It features blockchain security technology that resolves the risks of electronic file tampering and difficulties in verifying authenticity. Previously, the Initial app only allowed viewing of about 100 types of electronic certificates, but now the scope has been greatly expanded to include issuance. It is available on both Android and iOS.
Additionally, SK Telecom provides a feature that allows customers to bookmark frequently used documents, making it easier to issue and submit necessary paperwork. By the end of the year, the range of electronic certificates available for viewing and submission will be expanded to 300 types to enhance public convenience.
Along with this, SK Telecom offers a vaccination certificate in the form of an electronic certificate containing COVID-19 vaccination information, which can be viewed and submitted from the main screen of the Initial app.
Customers who have received the COVID-19 vaccine can immediately view their vaccination certificate by simply installing the Initial app, regardless of their subscribed carrier. It will also be possible to directly submit the vaccination certificate to places requiring electronic certificates, such as government agencies, banks, and multi-use facilities. SK Telecom plans to add a feature in the fourth quarter to directly issue vaccination certificates through the Initial app in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
