Won Hee-ryong Support Group Launches on the 7th... 33 Incumbent Lawmakers Participate
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] The 'Hope Rise' forum, a group of incumbent lawmakers supporting Won Hee-ryong, the People Power Party's presidential candidate and Governor of Jeju, will launch on the 7th.
The forum announced in a press release on the 6th that "the inaugural ceremony will be held at the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeouido, Seoul, and official activities will commence."
The forum is co-led by People Power Party lawmaker Eom Tae-young and Sogang University Professor Emeritus Jo Jang-ok. Lawmaker Koo Ja-geun is expected to serve as secretary.
In its founding statement, the forum said, "The public demands to break free from arrogance, prejudice, and unfair vested interests and to envision a hopeful future," adding, "We will respond to the call of the times emerging from the youth, lead change, and present hope for the future."
