Muan-gun's Smart Garden Emitting Fresh Air Receives 'Great Response'
Relaxation and Healing in an Automated Indoor Garden
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) has created three intelligent smart gardens to improve indoor working environments and reduce fine dust.
According to the county on the 6th, the smart garden creation project is a project that creates a new type of garden applying automated management technologies such as irrigation, lighting, and air conditioning control systems by utilizing indoor spaces of industrial complexes, public facilities, and medical institutions.
The plants in the smart garden, suitable for indoor growth, emit pleasant air that helps relieve tension, anxiety, fatigue, and depression, and maintenance is also efficient.
Therefore, last year, the county invested a total project cost of 60 million won (30 million won from the national government) to create smart gardens in Cheonggye Industrial Complex and Samhyang Industrial Complex, and this year completed indoor gardens in three locations: Muan Hospital, Maritime Safety Experience Center, and Muan-gun Oh Seung-woo Art Museum.
Governor Kim San said, “Indoor gardens with automated systems have excellent effects in reducing fine dust and purifying the air,” and added, “We plan to expand the smart park creation project so that citizens exhausted by COVID-19 can feel relaxation and healing by looking at plants.”
