Yeongam-gun Provides Newlyweds with 5 Million Won Marriage Incentive Payment
For Newlywed Couples Under 49, Payment Divided into 3 Installments Over 3 Years
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Jeon Dong-pyeong) announced on the 6th that it will provide newlyweds with a marriage encouragement grant of 5 million won to promote marriage and stable settlement.
The marriage encouragement grant support system was established by revising the "Yeongam-gun Population Policy Ordinance" from the 1st of this month to provide a basis for payment.
The eligibility for the marriage encouragement grant is for both men and women aged 49 or younger who have registered their marriage after January 1, 2021, and at least one spouse must be a first-time newlywed.
Additionally, at the time of marriage registration, at least one spouse must have had an address in Jeollanam-do for over one year and in Yeongam-gun for over six months, and as of the application date, both spouses must reside with an address in Yeongam-gun.
The application period starts six months after the marriage registration date, and the marriage encouragement grant totals 5 million won, paid in three installments over three years.
To apply for the marriage encouragement grant, applicants must visit the resident center of the jurisdiction corresponding to their registered address and submit an application form.
