Changwon City to Further Implement Coastal and Zoned Fishery Reduction Projects... Strengthening Fishermen's Competitiveness and Increasing Income
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 6th that it will additionally promote the 'Coastal and Quota Fisheries Vessel and Gear Reduction Project' to strengthen the competitiveness of fisheries and increase fishermen's income.
The city plans to reduce about 9 fishing vessels with a project cost of 582 million KRW by securing additional budget.
Applications will be accepted from the 19th to the 27th of this month.
As of the application start date, applicants must have owned a fishing vessel aged 6 years or older under their name for the past 3 years and have fishing activity records for more than 60 days in the past year.
Fishermen wishing to reduce vessels should refer to the announcement on the website and submit the required documents to the Fisheries Division of the City Hall.
