Im Sung-jae (23, CJ Logistics) made a late surge. On the 5th (Korean time) at Detroit Golf Club in Michigan, USA (par 72, 7,370 yards), he finished the final day of the PGA Tour Rocket Mortgage Classic (total prize money $7.5 million) with a strong 5-under-par, rising to a tie for 8th place (15-under-par 273). Cameron Davis (Australia) won his first PGA Tour title after a playoff against Troy Merritt (USA) and Joaquin Niemann (Chile), all tied at 18-under-par 270, going to the fifth extra hole. The winner's prize money was $1.35 million (about 1.53 billion KRW).
Starting from a tie for 12th place, 4 strokes behind, Im recorded 6 birdies and 1 bogey. He gained momentum with consecutive birdies on holes 1 and 2, added another birdie on hole 4 (par 5). Although a single bogey on hole 9 (par 3) was disappointing, he made consecutive birdies again on holes 13 and 14 in the back nine, and on hole 17 (par 5), his third shot landed very close to the hole. His green hit rate of 83.33% and pinpoint iron shots stood out. Notably, this marks his return to the top 10 for the first time in 4 months since tying for 8th at the Honda Classic last March.

He shot 5-under-par with 1 eagle, 5 birdies, and 2 bogeys, showing incredible power by gaining 3 strokes over the last two holes with an eagle from a greenside bunker shot on hole 17 and a birdie on hole 18 (par 4). In the playoff, Niemann was eliminated first with a bogey on the first 18th hole, and Merritt and Davis battled over four holes: 15 (par 3), 16 (par 4), 14 (par 5), and 15 again.
