Gangneung City Implements 'Ban on Single-Use Items' in Food Service Establishments
Revised Social Distancing Measures Applied
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangneung City announced on the 5th that "according to the application plan for the single-use item regulation under the social distancing system reorganized into 4 stages, the use of single-use items will be prohibited in food service establishments such as coffee shops and general restaurants in the Gangneung area."
According to the city, in stage 1 of the single-use item regulation, the existing restrictions on the use of disposable items within food service establishments remain unchanged. In stages 2 and 3, the use of reusable containers is the principle, but single-use items may be provided only upon customer request.
In stage 4, the local government head may partially allow the use of single-use items or fully permit it if deemed necessary.
